Yesterday, the Washington Wizards announced that Don Newman will be an assistant coach for Randy Wittman. Newman brings over 25 years of coaching experience to the Wizards staff.

Prior to coming to Washington, Newman was an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs starting in 2004. He has coached for numerous NCAA teams including Oregon, Arizona State, Sacramento State, and Washington State. He made his jump to the NBA in 1999 and hasn't gone back since.

While he was with the Spurs, he worked under Greg Popovich and was a part of two NBA Championships and five division titles with the team.
